Oh El Capitan, glamorously close to the Bauhaus and I-5. I felt bad because I lived close to Cornish arts college. I paid $660 for a 1 br with a nice walk in closet(2004), sure it was built into the side of a hill. Poor lighting with western exposure in a town that’s notoriously dark, I’m not sure I wouldn’t run back given the option. Now live in the least hip neighborhood of S.F. where at least I’m pretty sure I won’t get jacked for the privilege of living in the mission, but 1100 for a studio, and that’s a deal in this town(2008).
Hi Crispin–i wonder when you lived there and whether we know each other? I was there from 95-99. fondest memories of that place and would so go back. i had a studio for the price o $375 which was raised to $425!! sigh. i would like to transport myself back in time to El Capitan circa 1995.
